Nothing But a Dare is a second chance, enemies to lovers rom-com with a curvy, will punch you in the throat heroine, and a hero that will push every button she has for fun. Oh, and did I mention there’s a cat that wears turtleneck sweaters?
After what could possibly be the world’s worst morning, the last thing Abbie expected to see as she walked into her meeting was her childhood nemesis.
Hunter. Freaking. James.
The title of world’s worst morning now seemed like an understatement.
When Abbie walked into the conference room looking like a complete mess, and still killed her presentation, Hunter knew he’d made the right decision signing on with WCM Advertising. He was there for one reason, and one reason only. Abbie was going to be his, even if he had to dare her every step of the way.
** I was given the ARC in exchange for my Honest Review **
This is a sweet, childhood love that in a way makes no sense but, makes perfect sense all at the same time. Abbie is working her way up the ladder at an add agency when her very first true heart break walks in effectively derails her life. He had no intention of that, all Hunter wanted was to tell her that he had come to terms and loved her.
But old habits die hard and they fell into an old rhythm of teasing and dares. After an impromptu work trip that forced Abbie to face all her fears things change between the two of them and the truth comes to light.
I love books that have such a deep rooted love that goes far back between the leading people. But this one does have parts that are off putting. While the story itself is amazing, but how Abbies carries herself bothers me, no matter the feelings inside a professional woman would not launch herself across the room at someone and start wrestling with them. Her character bothered me in the sense that it feels like she never really did grow up.
That may be off putting for some readers but it was ok enough for me to set that aside and read the book and enjoy it all for what it is.
I do recommend this Book to others who love childhood romances, growing up and soft sweet ones.

* I WAS GIVEN AN ARC COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW *
This book sucked me in from the first chapter! There were many things that had me humming and hawing before I read it that I wasn’t overly sure that I would like it, but my love for the single dad books and my love of rockstars, made me try it and I was not disappointed in the least!
The Hop of the page instant connection between Billie and Max made your heart bleed for them in what they needed to go through. There was also the amazing friendship between Cal and Max, as well as Cals wife that made things work as well. There was a great build to all the characters involved that just kept you in. It also has been a long while since there was a character that I just plain didn’t like in a book, no matter the issues they were going through.
Normally I am ok with the viewpoints being split between the two main character, and anything more bothers me, but the slight inclusion of others has only added to the depth of what is going on. I like how the address the age gap, but they don’t revolve around it. They look into the laws and make it a realistic and not over dramatized even thought in reality most celebrity new is big like this and they are using public image as a real excuse.
I do not like how there is a loose end with the father of one of the lead conflict characters… When you get a chance to read it, let me know if you agree.
Justifying Jamie, an all-new standalone Romance in Anna Brooks Reason to Ruin Rockstar series is NOW LIVE!
The first time I heard his cheesy pick-up line, he made me laugh. The next night, I fell madly in love. Then he shattered my world without speaking a word, leaving me with an empty heart and a hollow soul. Still, I tried to fix what was broken, only to be humiliated beyond repair. I couldn’t believe the same man who promised me heaven so ruthlessly put me through hell with lips that once worshipped me. I thought that was the end of us, but then a life-altering discovery threatened more than just me, and the least likely man to stand at my side was the one who refused to leave it.
Anna began writing when she thought the world would want to hear her sick lyrics through song.Since then, she’s realized her childhood dream wasn’t so far-fetched, just misguided. Now she writes romance with real emotions and happy endings. If Anna isn’t writing or reading, she can be found by a space heater drinking a ridiculous amount of Diet Dr Pepper. She also likes to hang out with her husband and two boys. If it wasn’t for them, she wouldn’t ever leave the house.
Anna was born in Wisconsin but now lives in the Evergreen state.
How do you define yourself when others have already decided who you are?
Six years ago, when Camden Daniels came back from war without his younger brother, no one in the small town of Alba, Colorado, would forgive him—especially his father. He left, swearing never to return.
But a desperate message from his father brings it all back. The betrayal. The pain. And the need to go home again.
But home is where the one person he still loves is waiting. Willow. The one woman he can never have. Because there are secrets buried in Alba that are best left in the dark.
If only he could tell his heart to stay locked away when she whispers she’s always loved him, and always will…
Great and Precious Things is a heart-wrenching story about family, betrayal, and ultimately how far we’re willing to go on behalf of those who need us most.
Rebecca Yarros is a hopeless romantic and a lover of all things coffee, chocolate, and paleo. She is the author of The Last Letter, the Renegade series, and the Flight & Glory series, which includes Full Measures, the award-winning Eyes Turned Skyward, Beyond What is Given, and Hallowed Ground. She loves military heroes and has been blissfully married to hers for eighteen years.
When she’s not writing, she’s tying hockey skates for her four sons, sneaking in some guitar time, or watching brat-pack movies with her two daughters. She lives in Colorado with the hottest Apache pilot ever, their rambunctious gaggle of kids, and an English bulldog who is more stubborn than sweet. Having fostered and adopted their youngest daughter, Rebecca is passionate about helping others in the foster system through her nonprofit, One October.
He’s the quiet brooding guy who’s owned my heart since I was sixteen but has refused to claim it.
I’m the naïve woman who believes that someday our time will come.
I just didn’t realize that someday would include waking up in Vegas with a raging hangover and a ring on my finger.
If we believed in fate, maybe one of us would’ve trusted that something more powerful than ourselves interceded because our love is one of tangled vines. As twisted and frayed as they’ve become over the years, they’ve never broken.
An annulment seemed like the easy way out. We should’ve known it wouldn’t be fate that intervened, but our Italian Mamas. They can deliver Oscar-worthy performances when heaping on the guilt.
We thought it’d be easy to pretend to be a happily married couple in front of our families for three months and then say we gave it our best shot and go our separate ways.
But nothing is easy when it comes to Dominic Mancini and me. Nothing.

Holy Banana Sandwiches Ladies and Germs! I tried to sneak this out of Piper and Rayne much earlier than this but to no avail, but man was this worth the wait! I have never been disappointed in anything these ladies have put out, but they are masters of the tease….
I have liked the air of mystery surrounding Dom from the start, when Enzo was talking about him in the Blue Collar Brothers, I like how we do get glimpses of his real personality, quickly covered up with a sassy smart ass remark, while we watched Enzo and Carm become the Unicorns to their women.
I loved learning more about the eldest Mancini that hid away, what he was sneaking away doing, who really was hidden in that thing he called a heart. I loved learning why he was the way he was and what he was always about Val, or in the other books Mystery-Woman-Booty-Call.
The Love Dom and Val have for eachother is complicated and amazing, truly a once in a lifetime kind of feeling that makes you feel their sadness and pain. There have been so many variables in their past and present that have dictated, or so they thought, why they can never be together for the long term. I was nice to also see the parallel of it fall alongside the Blue Collar Brothers, their cousins, and see how slightly similar Dom and Vals story is to Luca and Laurens.
I am also a sucker for the single parent books and that is why I loved Val so much too, she wants this but she is balancing her wants, her needs and the wants and needs of her son, who is a sassy teenager. She also wants to but doesn’t want to, have to take in to account her Ex-Husband and his mild celebrity and the slight complications that come with that.
I do recommend this book, the only reason why it go 4/5 bly stars is because, there were some parts that included flashbacks that kinds seemed unneeded, but that is my personal opinion.

Title: Truce? Hating Elijah Monroe Author: Amelia Kingston Genre: Contemporary Romance Release Day: October 1st
About Truce? Hating Elijah Monroe:
A small town
enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy.
Harper Delaney is a newly certified elementary
school teacher with the mountain of student loan debt to prove it. Moving back
to her claustrophobically small hometown is about as tempting as two week old
sushi, but the allure of free rent and a guaranteed summer teaching job are
On the hunt for her dream job in San Francisco,
Harper just needs to survive the summer without murdering Elijah Monroe. He may
have grown into a scorchingly hot fireman, but he’s still her nemesis. Harper
gave Elijah her heart when she was sixteen, and never forgave the jerk for not
wanting it. Probably for the best, since he’s also her stepbrother.
Elijah still makes Harper’s blood boil and heart
race. And he knows it. She’ll wipe that smug smirk off his gorgeous face before
leaving town. The only question is if she wants to do it with a kiss or a slap.
I know it’s been too long since I’ve had a date when my
first thought at seeing a firetruck pull up outside the school isn’t “Oh, no.
Where’s the fire?” but “Oh, yes. Where are the firemen!” I’m practically
drooling when I see him step out of the truck. His tall frame is broad and
solid. Every inch of his more than six-foot body is carved from stone. This guy
is cut. Ripped. Hot. If I faint, will he give me mouth to mouth?
My heart drops into my stomach and a weird little squeak
leaves my throat when I realize who it is. I might legit need CPR. He was cute
as a boy, but he’s drop dead gorgeous as a man.
He’s not a man. He’s the devil. The bane of my adolescent
existence. My stepbrother.
I drag my eyes up to Elijah’s face. He looks put together
and mature in a way that I’m not prepared for. His hair is the same warm brown,
but now it’s cut short and tidy. He’s clean shaven, making those full lips pop.
Lips which are curved up into a familiar smug smirk as his bright green eyes
sparkle with devious satisfaction. He caught me checking him out and he wants
me to know it. He struts across the parking lot, shoulders back and chest
puffed up. He’s the same pompous jerk I remember from high school, breaking
hearts and causing trouble.
I look around the school yard and everyone has turned to
watch the spectacle. The kids are all ogling the firetruck. The teachers and
assistants are all ogling Elijah. I can’t control my groan. I cross my arms and
scowl at him.
He’s still a few feet away when I snap, “What are you
doing here?” I’m loud enough half the playground can hear me. My happy teacher
persona is a distant memory. I’m an angry, frustrated sixteen-year-old again,
fighting the magnetic pull drawing me to him. Was it always this strong?
Doesn’t matter. I’ll never give in to it.
“Nice to see you too, Short Stack,” he quips, crossing his
arms to match me.
“Enough with that stupid nickname already. It’s been almost
a decade. Grow up, Elijah,” I fume. “Plus, it doesn’t even make sense.”
He looks down at the ground, trying to hide his smile. He
loves winding me up. And I fell for it. Now I’m more annoyed than ever.

Originally from a small town in England, Toni studied Marine Biology at University of Liverpool (B.Sc.) and University of St. Andrews (Ph.D.) with the intention she’d never be far from the ocean. Well, that plan backfired and she ended up in the Canadian prairies with her biology professor husband, two kids, a rescue dog, and two laid-back leopard geckos. Toni started writing while pregnant with her first child and never stopped. Her greatest achievements are mastering the Tokyo subway, climbing Ben Lomond, snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, and surviving fourteen Winnipeg winters (fingers crossed).
