Nothing But a Dare is a second chance, enemies to lovers rom-com with a curvy, will punch you in the throat heroine, and a hero that will push every button she has for fun. Oh, and did I mention there’s a cat that wears turtleneck sweaters?
After what could possibly be the world’s worst morning, the last thing Abbie expected to see as she walked into her meeting was her childhood nemesis.
Hunter. Freaking. James.
The title of world’s worst morning now seemed like an understatement.
When Abbie walked into the conference room looking like a complete mess, and still killed her presentation, Hunter knew he’d made the right decision signing on with WCM Advertising. He was there for one reason, and one reason only. Abbie was going to be his, even if he had to dare her every step of the way.
** I was given the ARC in exchange for my Honest Review **
This is a sweet, childhood love that in a way makes no sense but, makes perfect sense all at the same time. Abbie is working her way up the ladder at an add agency when her very first true heart break walks in effectively derails her life. He had no intention of that, all Hunter wanted was to tell her that he had come to terms and loved her.
But old habits die hard and they fell into an old rhythm of teasing and dares. After an impromptu work trip that forced Abbie to face all her fears things change between the two of them and the truth comes to light.
I love books that have such a deep rooted love that goes far back between the leading people. But this one does have parts that are off putting. While the story itself is amazing, but how Abbies carries herself bothers me, no matter the feelings inside a professional woman would not launch herself across the room at someone and start wrestling with them. Her character bothered me in the sense that it feels like she never really did grow up.
That may be off putting for some readers but it was ok enough for me to set that aside and read the book and enjoy it all for what it is.
I do recommend this Book to others who love childhood romances, growing up and soft sweet ones.

acres in the middle of nowhere along with their one dog and too many cats. A
self-confessed workaholic, when she’s not writing, she’s reading or hanging out

A total playboy with abs for days, a panty-melting smirk, and a face the gods themselves would be jealous of.
And he’s my new boss.
None of that matters, because as a single mom, men like Alexander Harding are the last thing I need. What I do need is this job, so I’m going to keep my head down, work hard, and avoid that asshole as much as humanly possible.
But then he gives me an offer I can’t refuse, even though everything inside of me is warning me to run away and never look back.
It’s just one weekend.
One weekend to convince a potential client that Alexander has changed from the player who spent more time in the bedroom than the boardroom into a family man they’d be happy to go into business with.
But the more time I spend with him, the more I realize that there might be a beating heart buried under his designer shirts and spectacular pecs after all…which is bad news for me.
Because the only thing worse than hating your boss is falling in love with him.
** I WAS GIVEN THE ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST AND FULL REVIEW **
This Book gave me the feel from the start to finish, and then to find out it is part of a duet!? Made me so happy then broke my heart to wait all at the same time!
This is not my first book I have read by Emily Goodwin and I have yet to be disappointed by a book of hers. The synopsis is a bit misleading because it paints Alex as this cold person, when really you see him and what he is really looking for, it makes him such a great addition to the Book Boyfriend Club. Reading about him and what he does for Harper and her kiddos, his sister and her family, you see that he is merely a product of his upbringing and that makes me him more amazing. (Don’t Worry I wont spoil those, but when you see what I am talking about please let me know.)
Harper is strong determined mom, who is not afraid to accept help when it is offered to her. But at the same time will not take advantage of the kindness to those around her. I love her as strong leading lady, a great role model to her mother. I love how she was developed and is portrayed as human rather than this super human trying to do it all. I mean I am married mom of 2, I have help daily and the fact that she was written to be human and have breakdown, bad days and just dont give a shit days is amazing and great. More reason why I love Emily’s writing style because she write real, but in a way you can still fantasize…. If that makes any sense at all.
I am IN LOVE with the dynamic being developed between Harper and Alex, what I am not in love with is the way this one ended!
I love them because they make you want more and try and think of where this is going to go from here, but I hate them because not you have to wait for more…
I Do Highly Recommend this Book to anyone who loves a fluffy sweet, Office, Single Parent, Enemies to Friends To Lovers Kind of Romance.
I’ve known him my entire life. Before marriage. Before fatherhood. Before betrayal. Now, he’s one of rock’s bad-boys trying to be good. Trying to be the best father he can for his daughter. He’s my brother’s best friend. He’s my boss. He has a wife. Max isn’t mine to have, but I want him all the same. And I haven’t survived all that I have to not go after what I want.
Her story is a tragedy, mine’s a publicity disaster.
Just when I needed her most, she walked back into my life, and the timing couldn’t be worse. With a newborn baby, a divorce, an album to record, and a world tour to plan, I don’t need the distraction. She’s off limits. She’s my best friend’s little sister. She’s my nanny. Billie’s a golden drop of sexy sun on a grey autumn day, tempting me into the light and a life full of possibilities. A life not meant for us.
* I WAS GIVEN AN ARC COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW *
This book sucked me in from the first chapter! There were many things that had me humming and hawing before I read it that I wasn’t overly sure that I would like it, but my love for the single dad books and my love of rockstars, made me try it and I was not disappointed in the least!
The Hop of the page instant connection between Billie and Max made your heart bleed for them in what they needed to go through. There was also the amazing friendship between Cal and Max, as well as Cals wife that made things work as well. There was a great build to all the characters involved that just kept you in. It also has been a long while since there was a character that I just plain didn’t like in a book, no matter the issues they were going through.
Normally I am ok with the viewpoints being split between the two main character, and anything more bothers me, but the slight inclusion of others has only added to the depth of what is going on. I like how the address the age gap, but they don’t revolve around it. They look into the laws and make it a realistic and not over dramatized even thought in reality most celebrity new is big like this and they are using public image as a real excuse.
I do not like how there is a loose end with the father of one of the lead conflict characters… When you get a chance to read it, let me know if you agree.
Back in Bliss, an all-new sexy romance in the Nights in Bliss, Colorado Series from New York Times bestselling author Lexi Blake writing as Sophie Oak is available now!
Logan Green is back in Bliss, but only for a few weeks to help out at the sheriff’s office.
Everything changes when Seth Stark strolls into town with Georgia Dawson on his arm.
Seth’s arrival is anything but a happy accident. He always dreamed of a big house on the river and a wife he could share with his best friend, Logan. After building a software empire, his only goal has been to make that dream come true. He just needed the perfect woman.
Georgia is still haunted by the dark, troubled man who saved her life. She can’t get Logan out of her head. Her boss brought her to Bliss to help him decorate his new summer home, but when Logan Green walks through the door she discovers Seth has something different in mind.
Seth has a plan for their mutual happily ever after, but he never dreamed that coming home would put all their lives in danger.
“Holy shit.” Logan practically beamed at the thing that looked like it could eat her. “Seth! Seth, get in here!”
He went to the door and yelled for Seth again.
Seth ran in, his eyes wide and his body covered only in a towel. A little towel. A tiny white towel that contrasted with his tan skin and had been wrapped over ridiculously muscled hips. He had those notches, the ones she’d always been sure some artist Photoshopped onto male models because no one could be that perfect. His dark hair was wet, curling above his shoulders. Moisture clung to his every muscle and, holy hell, he had a lot of them. They hid underneath his perfectly tailored suits.
Georgia forgot about the crazy-ass creature that had come straight out of some danger-in-the-wild documentary and watched the two gorgeous predators who had invaded her room.
She pulled the covers up to her neck, aware that she didn’t look anything like they did.
“Maurice.” Seth took a step forward. “Wow. How the hell long do moose live, man? It’s totally Maurice. You can see where Hiram tried to take him down. There’s a scar on his nose.”
Logan moved in, too, and she could see the easy way the two men related. For a moment she saw the kids they had been, friends forever. God, she’d never had a friend like that.
Logan opened the window and she heard a loud chuffing noise. “He kicked Hiram in the groin. It was a damn lucky thing the man already had three kids because I heard nothing worked the same after. Hey, boy. You remember me?”
Another huff and she was about to believe the thing knew how to communicate.
Seth looked over at her, his eyes glinting. “We don’t get a ton of moose around here. Maurice is a legend. The people of Bliss say that if he shows up at your place, you’re blessed. Meant to be here. He’s the welcoming committee.”
Logan laughed. “What no one will tell you is he’s a total snack whore. If you leave a Snickers bar on the porch, he will show up lickety-split. When Laura finally got comfy, I snuck some chocolate onto her porch so she would feel welcome.”
“I’m glad she stayed. I heard she got married,” Seth said.
Logan nodded. “Got a kid now. That’s why I’m here. Her husbands need some paternity leave. I heard it’s a girl.”
Their shared history was right there, a palpable thing between them. It was almost as though she could reach out and touch it, feel the warmth of it. Logan and Seth felt like a family.
What was she doing here?
Once again, like most of her life, she was the outsider. Even among her brothers, she’d felt it. Chase and Ben had each other. Mark and Dare had been tight. And she and Win had been so far apart in age that they couldn’t connect on a brother-sister
level. She’d been alone. The only child whose mother wasn’t up to snuff. The only one without money when the tide had turned.
Logan looked down at her, his eyes softening. “Georgia, I’m sorry about last night. I didn’t mean a word of what I said. To either of you.”
She nodded, feeling awkward. They were here in her bedroom. It was a bit surreal. She turned her attention back to the moose.
“So it’s not something that’s going to attack?” She kept the blanket around her neck. Yeah, that was another way she was different. She wasn’t gorgeously perfect like them. She’d tried the whole diet thing, and she wasn’t cut out for it.
“Maurice is a sweetie, but I won’t lie. The first time I saw him, I peed my own damned pants and ran screaming for my mommas,” Logan said on a laugh. He reached a hand out, pressing it against the screen, his eyes misting like he was reaching for his past. “He won’t hurt you. He wants to say hello. And he probably smelled the bacon. Shit. My bacon.”
Logan turned and took off at a dead run for the kitchen.
Seth touched the screen, too. “Hey, Maurice. Thanks for the welcome.”
When he turned back to Georgia, he sported the sweetest smile. He jumped onto her bed, not a hint of self-consciousness on his face as he settled in beside her. “How did you sleep? My bed’s better, by the way. It’s huge. Built for three.”
“Good for you and whatever ménage you choose to invite. Could you go away so I can get dressed?” Last night seemed like a dream, and more than a little like a nightmare. God, what had she been thinking? Seth wanted her to tempt Logan into a ménage? He was insane. She was insane for not immediately walking out of the cabin and hoofing it to Malibu and the safety of Win’s minicastle where she could make like Rapunzel. She would barricade herself in and then keep her hair cut because she was done with men.
He smiled, an intimate thing that threatened to curl her toes. “I thought we settled that last night.”
She sighed and wished she was strong enough to not look at that towel, praying it would flop open and she would get a good view of what Seth had down under. Maybe it was small. Like tiny.
Did it matter? He was the sweetest man she’d ever met. He was kind and good. She wasn’t about to reject him because he had a small penis. It wasn’t like sex was all that awesome anyway.
Logan had a big penis. She’d felt it rubbing against her when he’d kissed her like there was no tomorrow. She thought about Logan’s penis a lot. More than a lot.
Nope. She wasn’t going to reject anyone based on penis size. She was going to reject them because she wasn’t about to get her heart broken again.

***** I WAS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO READ THE ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW *****
This is seems like it would be a slow burn as most of the ‘Brothers Best Friends” books I have read are but there is so much more to this one that make me love it!
This book is a flip to the normal conventions that I like, mainly because its Bull who has taking over the Pining part as opposed to Quinn. Now I know that is a generalization of these type of books but hold on with me here. Quinn has always been attracted to Bull, because he was older, better looking and treated her with kindness that he normally did not show other people. But that’s as far as it was for Quinn in the start, but Bull… Bull was the one who was torn for his attraction for Quinn and his loyalty to his best friend and her brother.
After she had a terrible break up and needed to get away he offered her a job at his bar and promised to look out for her. He did that more so out of his ned to keep her close and watch her as she navigated mending her broken heart. When she gets mad at him for basically scaring away any guy she met to fulfilling a needs she has, he takes on that role. He is the one to fill that need, and she accepts because of her long time crush.
Then we see more from Bulls side where he wants more and more from her. He is not happy being the booty call, the means to an end and wants her in more ways. But he also is battling with demons from his past, as well as issues with his own self worth. I love seeing it from his perspective and seeing the male lead on this side more than the female. The male just trying to sway her from casual to something more.

My friends used to tell me ‘What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.’ Clearly they lied, because there was no way the chemistry I had with Mel could ever be left behind.
However, my children, her career, and nine hundred miles between us meant that for seven years, Melanie Holstein was the one who got away.
I was Aiden Shaw, first-round draft pick turned the best quarterback the league had ever seen. I worked hard to secure my position in football history while balancing life as a single dad. Through it all, my Vegas spitfire was never far from my mind.
And considering her best friend was now with my best friend, it was pure and utter torture.
When my career took a devastating turn, Mel was the first person at my side. I was broken and defeated, but that stubborn woman was determined to piece me back together.
I liked to pretend Mel and I were destined for greatness, but Lady Luck had never been on our side. And the tragedy that followed might have been the hardest hit of all.
** I WAS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO READ THE ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW **
The chemistry between Aiden and Mel can be felt off the pages. What was suppose to be a one night stand turned into a friendship, a flirtmance that went sideways with a bomb dropped, ending what could have been before it even started.
Their lives stayed connected when their 2 best friends ended up hooking up and starting a family. Aiden along with his very best friends were all NFL players scattered throughout the United States playing for different teams, all trying to stay connected. Because of that he was still connected to Mel. They tried so many times over 7 years to start what the couldnt, and still so many things stood in their way. Then tragedy befell Aiden and he was in a dark place he didn’t know now to navigate. But there was Mel, to take the brunt, to prove that she was in it for them.
Mel, is strong and driven and finally going after what as has long been hers, Aiden. Proving that even though he is in the toughest part of his life and career she will be there to love and support him in that and all other aspects of his life.
I really dont know what else to say other than this is a slow-burn Long Time coming, second, third, fourth and fifth chance romance, also friends to lovers! This is sweet, hard and amazing journey of the heart and fate that I highly recommend!
