stopped and stared at him.
He meant business. He was glaring at me with eyes that said, “Do not fucking
fuck with me, you fucking twit.”
sighed. I’ll try reasoning instead. “You’re going to drive me to your house,
and then I’ll pack whatever I need and call a cab to take me all the way back
to where I’m paying rent. It’s not worth it. Just let me grab a cab now.”
savage curse bit out, and then his eyes flashed.
singular warning had been when he told me he was two seconds away. In a flash,
he grabbed me, and I was airborne, right into the back of his truck. But he
wasn’t done. He leapt up, grabbing the seatbelt over me, and pulled it around
me, clicking it in place. He had the door shut, locked, and he was already
going around the front before I could even push myself upright and then start
to reach for my seatbelt.
then, he was inside, the engine on, and he shoved off into traffic.
right. You’re being stupid.” Cursing, he ducked down as a car sped past us.
They knew he was driving because they came up on his driver’s side, their
phones up and ready to go. It was a car full of teenage girls. “Dammit.”

growl, he shook his head. “I’m not buying it. What? You’re going to tell those
girls who are trying to get a picture of me?”

from posting it on Twitter, or even posting your phone number?”
litany of curses spewed from him, and the back of his neck was getting red. I
was having a heyday with this. It was more fun than I could remember having in
a long time.
he announced it, “I liked your mom.”

tasted terrible, but we’d lie to you. Both of us.”

I loved that apron. Always felt like it was sunshine. Made me feel warm, even
in the winter.”
noted softly, “That’s why she wore it. For you.”
eyes lifted to the rearview mirror, holding mine a second again. He swallowed,
his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down. “Yeah.” His voice came out raspy. “She
was a good woman, and a good mom. She was a good wife. I could always tell.”
snorted. “Why? Because she wasn’t wasting away like yours?” Then, I winced.
That sounded even bitchier to my own ears, more than I thought it would be.
“Shit. I’m sorr—”
you guys laughed.” He kept on talking about my family, ignoring what I’d so
blatantly pointed out about his own, his face hard. “My parents laughed when
they were drunk, and only when they had a party. When there were other people
there to laugh with, never the two of them, never the three of us. I was their
only kid. I wouldn’t have known better except I half grew up in your home, too,
and what I remember the most about growing up was that you guys laughed.”

“Until she died. We didn’t laugh much after that.”

together during our baking lessons, and any time he was in the house. He

your house once a month, every first Sunday. My mom tried to teach us how to
make Caesar salad, the only second cooking session she gave us, and that one we
all got fine. It’s hard to screw up.”

God.” I groaned, throwing a hand up to hit my forehead. “Can we not? Can we
save the dramatics until I’m able to call a cab to take me back to my place?
For real. Enough bonding or whatever it is we were just doing.”
growled, “You are such a goddamn bitch.”
retorted, “And you are such a goddamn prick. Drop me the fuck off!”
gunned the engine, shooting forward in traffic, and weaving until we were
nearing my exit. When he took it, I relaxed. The rest of the way was tense and
silent, and I knew both of us couldn’t wait to be rid of the other. Then he

In my defense, I didn’t know who he was. To me,

too risky for her career and mine. Good thing I’ve never been great at sticking

I’d spent years trying to put the past behind me. I wanted to

They made me the man I’d become—a brother of Satan’s Fury MC.
I wore my cut with pride. It was a constant reminder of how far

That was about to change. Come hell or high water, I was going to
break down her walls and prove I was a man she could trust.
I’d learned to fight for what I wanted, and I wanted her.
Leslie Wilder grew up in a small town in West Tennessee. A
country girl at heart, she’s always thought that life is too short, but she had
no idea how short it really was until her brother passed away in 2014. She’s
always been an avid reader, loving the escape only a great book can give, and
wondered if she had what it took to write one of the wild romances she’d come
to adore. With the support of her family and friends, she published Inferno: A
Devil Chaser’s MC, one year after her brother’s death. With him in mind, she
fulfilled her lifetime dream of writing. Since then, she’s completed the Devil
Chaser’s Series and continued on with the Satan’s Fury MC Series. She has so
many stories in her head, and can’t wait to share each and every one.
Leslie has been blown away by the support of her readers,
appreciating every message, review, and encouraging word she’s received over
the past year. She looks forward to continuing this journey with them for years
This Episode I will share with you a few of the Hockey book series and Authors that I love and continue to re read to this day.
The First Author I found was Kelly Jamieson and I love her Aces Hockey Series and Really do recommend it for a person who is not an overly large fan of hockey and either doesn’t want to learn or is willing to learn.
Logan Heath was the sweetest and most beautiful boy I had ever seen. He was popular, smart, and the star quarterback of Fort Johnson High. Every girl in school followed him around in hopes of getting his attention. I was no different, except that I admired Logan from afar. With him being a superstar junior and me being an awkward freshman at a new school, our coupling was a mere pipe dream.
Implementing my top-notch investigating skills I learned from reading The Nancy Drew Mysteries, I followed Logan’s life from high school through his college career, and then some. Fearing that my stalker-ish tendencies were becoming more of a mental health issue, I purposely lost track of him five years ago. I admit since that time I have thought of Logan. And when I say thought I mean he has popped into one or forty R-rated dreams of mine.
The day he walked into my bakery, butterflies fluttered in my stomach, tingles tingled my skin, and a sequence of R-rated dreams flashed through my head. But I was no longer that awkward teenager, too scared to speak to him. I had grown into a confident woman. A woman who wanted to admire Logan Heath up close and personal. Unfortunately, from the very beginning, Logan wanted something from me that I was not willing to give him.
* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCE READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *
I was intrigued by this book for one reason… She was online stalking her high school ex…. No I am not a crazy person who does that, but I knew it was going to spell hilariety.
I was honestly surprised that, that part was more of a lure than anything and focused more on the current events that are transpiring between Lip and Logan. But let’s not forget to mention that Hilariety does come in, and her name is Elipheleta, or Gram as she is affectionately known, and Lips name sake.
It is sweet, sassy and just a fun read, Logan comes in as the bad guy, the closer. which made me picture him as Gabriel Macht from Suits the whole book. Logan is sweet and really trying to just get Lip to see him and she still sees him as the cocky guy using their history to take her future from her.
There is a lot of sweet one on one moments and funny moments involving Gram and her old age lack of filter.
You might be wondering how you’ll know when your playboy ways are coming to an end. For some it might be an unexpected pregnancy (ahem… you know who), for others it might be finally landing the one woman you’ve always wanted (cough… I won’t mention any names). For me, it was the death of my mentor and the subsequent reading of their will.
The signs were there, they always are. But I didn’t notice them until it was too late, and my demise was complete.

** I WAS GIVEN AND ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW **
I was very much on the fence for this one after reading Savannah and Liam’s Story, I was very much against Denver and thought he was going to be the strangest and hardest story to get into, from where he was during Rome’s time to shine as well as Liams….
Glad to say that he has cracked the top 5 of my book boyfriends.. which seems to consist of A LOT of Piper Rayne Characters (#1 Garrett Single Dads Club, #2 Dom White Collar Cousins, #3 Jamie Outlander, #4 Tacker Arizona Vengeance, and #5 Denver #5 Baileys.)
I liked this book for so many reasons, you got to see more in the past couples and some parts make you feel so many feelings! I was sucked in right away, even though I went into this VERY apprehensive.
I love how they give you more insight into why Denver is they way he has always been, how big his heart truly is, and how he is kind of a big kid at heart still. I honestly love who is, and what brought him to how he is to this point, because it shows how much of a great person he is, and how the inner workings of his brain… well work.
I love that you also (FINALLY) get a bit more information on Kingston, as he seems to always be away playing firefighter hero. Now he has moved to the one that I am not sure if I am on pins and needles to learn more… or ya know… have another Denver Situation… BUT this isn’t about him…
I do recommend this book, even if you were like and a bit skeptical due to the picture that was painted before in previous books. You Will not be dissapointed!!
I’m famous for two things—being one of the best defensemen in the NHL and my classic pranks. My teammates always said one of my jokes would bite me in my Scottish arse one day, and they were right. After a prank goes wrong, I’m sentenced to six weeks community service under none other than the sexy, rule-abiding, smart-mouthed city clerk of Sweet Water—Annabelle Clarke.
Lucky for me it’s offseason. Unlucky for me? I want Annabelle like I want my next breath. She’s smart, luscious, and wound-tighter than a Scottish drum. Och, I’d love to be the one to help loosen her strings.
She’s made it clear that while I’m under her employment, she won’t be under me. The white-hot chemistry we can’t deny must be ignored at all costs. But bantering with her is soon my favorite pastime And she’s the sweetest forbidden fruit I’ve ever tasted
As we grow closer, one thing is absolutely clear A summer with Annabelle Clarke can only end one of two ways: Satisfaction or surrender. And I can only hope we can weather the storm when the sky inevitably crashes down on us.
** I WAS GIVEN AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW **
This series has been full of swoon worthy men who want nothing more to make their special ladies makes me love hockey more and the men on the Reapers.
Connell has had my interest peaked for since Axel, mainly because personally how many people from Scotland come over to play hockey and get in the NHL. Don’t jump all over me, I may have this love of hockey and a few teams but it is not my obsessive love, I know my teams and my player, that’s about it. ( Woot Got Oilers! ) I also love his joking nature, that to me shows he has a kind, playful heart which is shown here and his relationship with Annabelle, prior to it becoming a romantic relationship.
I love Annabelle because she is real on many levels, she is a fuller woman, and to me as bigger fuller woman, that is great to see in a book, and get the hot hockey player! She is also so confident, even though she shows some small bouts of self doubt. That shows she is normal and a great and relatable character.
Connell and Annabelle are sweet and honestly a dream couple, he is the best for her, the soft and funny to her hard and serious.
This whole series so far have the best Book Boyfriends that I am ready to steal.
