REVIEW: One Moment Please By Amy Daws

SYNOPSIS

That awkward moment when an ER doctor has to inform you that you’re pregnant…with his baby.

Three things Lynsey Jones knows about the hot doctor: he’s grouchy, an arrogant jerk, and strangely obsessed with pie.

Three things Dr. Dick knows: he doesn’t talk about his past, he doesn’t do relationships, and the crazy girl in the hospital cafeteria who ate a fistful of French silk pie…is annoyingly irresistible.

After a chance meetup at a bar and a heated cab ride together, things come to a head and now instead of hating each other, they’re horizontal in a bed.

Three months later, the weird cafeteria stalker who crept out of Dr. Dick’s house like a thief in the night, winds up as his patient in the ER after her Tinder date from hell.

Dr. Dick is prepared to keep it cool and professional. That is until her bloodwork reveals that she’s pregnant.

What really throws him for a loop…is that the surprise baby…is his.

MY REVIEW

* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCE READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *

Any Daws have me my first 5⭐ of 2020, and this is a great read! Amazing, emotional and just a great love story that is soft and steamy all rolled into one.

I normally find issue with a female lead that is softer in the beginning but finds herself later, but the way Lyndsey found herself felt to natural and the progression was amazing. She could see the truth in Josh and wanted to work with him and set her feelings aside without really setting them aside. (Sidenote my elementary school crush was names Josh Richardson so…. That was a name from my past that brought some memories back! We went to school together from Kindergarten to grade 12! My first dance at the first boy girl dance in the 90s! And we also shared a dance at Prom! Ok enough about me and my dad flashbacks)

Josh is a living under a dark cloud of secrets and self loathing that was hard to picture why and why Lyndsey was sticking it out the way she was. There are so many twist and turns and secrets that just hit you in the feels over and over again!!

Another 5 ⭐!

REVIEW: Making The Call by Amanda Shelley

SYNOPSIS

Dani
As a bestselling romance author, most assume my life’s glamorous, filled with combustible chemistry, and most of all, romance. Ha! I can only wish. With a deadline looming, I’ve escaped to my family’s cabin on Anderson Island to free myself from distractions. My plan’s great, until a man, who could pass as a cover model on one of my books, comes to my rescue. Is there chemistry? Sure. Is he everything I’d look for in a guy? Absolutely. But will my career be at risk if I give into my desire?

Luke
For a player, women line up outside the locker room. For coaches, we’re lucky to get in the game. As the youngest NFL coach in the league, I live, eat, breathe, and even sleep football. To gear up for this season, I return to my home on Anderson Island for a much-needed break. When Dani literally crashes into my life, my mind’s suddenly on the sexy brunette with a sailors mouth, rather than my team’s next play. She has me dusting off another playbook entirely, making me wonder, did I make the right call?

MY REVIEW

* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCE READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *

This one is another amazing read by Amanda Shelley!

Dani and her character gives us romance reader fanatics a slight glimpse into the writing and publishing process but still loving the way she is and how funny she is as a person. A character you can relate to even though we are not writers…. Well at least I am not.

Luke is sweet and amazing and just is a true southern gentleman that his mama raised him to be. How he tries to find that balance and make his relationship work with Danika and his new coveted position as youngest NFL coach. (Almost wrote couch)…

I love the soft and easy flow of this book, there is conflict and a natural arc in this story but there isn’t a high flow of anxiety and just a sweet story full of love and passion!

I do recommend!!

REVIEW: Screw By Lilly Atlas

SYNOPSIS

Jazmine lives with secrets she buries beneath conservative clothing and avoidance of relationships. Those secrets are just one reason she spends months resisting the advances of the Hell’s Handlers’ resident flirt, Screwball. Mostly, she can’t stand Screw’s constant parade of one-night stands and inability to be serious. But the man is charming, and her resolve is only so strong. When Gumby, a romantic interest from Jazz’s past, returns to her life, she suddenly finds herself stuck between two men who hate each other on sight yet seem inexplicably drawn together.

As the new enforcer for the Hell’s Handlers Motorcycle Club, Screwball faces a challenge he’s avoided his entire life: the heavy weight of leadership. Now he’s in charge of protecting his club as threats from an enemy MC mount. Even though he doubts himself, Screw wants the opportunity to prove his worth to his brothers. Meanwhile, he also finds himself attracted to Jazz in a way he’s never experienced. When Jazz’s eye-catching biker from Arizona shows up in town, Screw finds himself wondering if a future full of commitment might be worth leaving his comfort zone.

Having grown up with a brutal father who spoke with his fists, Gumby learned early to suppress certain sides of himself. When he crosses the country in search of a woman he can’t shake from his head, he not only finds her in danger but the object of one very appealing enforcer’s desire. He soon discovers denying his true identity can be impossible when faced with real temptation.

Can three wounded souls overcome their baggage in time to save the Hell’s Handlers MC and their relationship?

MY REVIEW

* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCE READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *

I was super excited for Screw to get his own book and I have loved these MMF books in the MC genre it’s just so sweet and steamy and sexy.

I loved the origins of Jazz and how she meshes with the family units and how much these MC families really make me wish I could join them.

Jazz and screw have had chemistry that made us want them to hook up for so long and but adding Gumby and showing the growth between them and how even though they came from different backgrounds they could find exceptence and self-exceptence.

Gumby is my new Book Boyfriend, brooding and conflicted but willing to learn and grow. This is an amazing addition to the Hell’s Handlers series!

SYNOPSIS

Sometimes scoring off the ice leads to the greatest rewards.

Until my birthday when my teammates convince me to live a little.
But living a little takes on a whole new meaning when less than a year later I’m confronted with a crying baby on my doorstep, drooling on a note that declares he’s mine.

Suddenly, I’m a single dad in way over my head.
There is no playbook for situations like this.

Luckily, I have Paisley.
My gorgeous neighbor, my long-time crush, and now—my savior.
She’s there any time I need her.
Helping. Guiding. Gazing at me with those green eyes that make me feel capable of this after all.

With her at my side, I’m quickly learning there’s more to life than winning a hockey game.

MY REVIEW

* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCE READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *

I Fell in love with the way that Stacey writes he characters, how they never see only 2 dimensional. They always fell well rounded even in the beginning when we are just getting to know them and where the story is going.

Mikah is a strong and amazing character, who knows what he wants but has ben dealt a card that is harder than most to deal with at the height of his career. But it was this hand has been dropped in his lap it also gave him a life preserver in the form of his neighbour, She and him had been watching each other from afar and this was the thrust they needed.

It also helped him bond in new ways with his teammates and learn more about what inner strength really is, and how much he can take. How much he can really take.

It is a great story about personal growth and really in a way self acceptance to all that you are and what you can accomplish with the right support system.

Thank you

REVIEW: Royal Mistake By Piper Rayne

SYNOPSIS

He’s not your average Joe from the corner bar.
He’s the heir to the crown.

I should know, I’ve followed him for years.
Not in a stalkerish way. Magazines and online gossip blogs are fair game when you’re royalty. But I do know every detail about him, down to the brand of boxer briefs he wears.

All my studying of the man who plays a starring role in my dreams pays off when I win a dinner with him. As if that wasn’t enough, he barters a deal with me that has him moving into my spare guest room.

I forgot that fairy tales don’t exist though because just as I’m about to get everything I want, including the prince, I find out there’s someone in Prince Adrian Marx’s life I don’t know—his fiancée.

MY REVIEW

* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCE READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *

Again another character I was on the fence about liking and I have never been one to enjoy the prince falling for the common girl.

But this was a treat I didn’t know I needed. Sierra got a bad rap in My Best Friends Ex although it wasn’t really uncalled for either. We just like to root for the MC in most cases. And since Blanca was established…. But I digress…

How this started was actually really different but not to far out of the realm of possibility as well as it shows that live can grow from common and uncommon grounds. It opened the doors to why Sierra was how she was when we first met her and it also gave us some understanding into really why she grew up the way she did.

I love that there was closure as well as opened doors for other characters and her life story. It also helped me understand Rian as a person a bit better as well. And I cannot wait to see more on her as well as continue to watch Sierra and Blanca’s stories grow.

I recommend if you love the instant attraction, Prince falling for the Common girl.

Love it!

REVIEW: Charmer By Kayley Loring

SYNOPSIS

NICO

She serves me coffee late at night when I come around to write lyrics,
but it’s not the caffeine I’ve gotten addicted to.

We’ve got the spark, but she’s the only woman in town
who seems to be immune to my charms.

When it’s time for me to leave for my cross-country tour,
I just can’t imagine not seeing her for months.

So I offer her a job on the road with me.

KAT

Everyone in LA knows that Nico Todd has a way with songs and with the ladies.

What he doesn’t know is that I would love to let him have his way with me.

But my life can only revolve around one infuriatingly cute guy—
the six-year-old that I live with.

Imagine my surprise when Nico finds out about my little boy
and tells me to bring him and my mom on the road too.

And imagine Nico’s surprise when he realizes my son
is the biggest charmer of them all.

MY REVIEW

* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCE READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *

This is my first book of Kayley Loring and I was not disspointed in the least. I have a special place in my reading heart for single parent books and this was a great and sweet story to be read.

There were some parts that I didn’t care for, but you can’t please everyone. There were some parts that I would have liked elaborated more on, like the epilogue as well as the final chapter, it seemed wrapped up to fast.

But the beginning and the gradual growth of Kat and Nico’s relationship was so sweet and you could feel the chemistry between them. There was dimension to their stories and their growth and you could see it from both sides.

I do recommend this if you like single parent, rock star romance and more of a slower burn romance story telling.

Thanks
