ABOUT THE BOOK
Logan Heath was the sweetest and most beautiful boy I had ever seen. He was popular, smart, and the star quarterback of Fort Johnson High. Every girl in school followed him around in hopes of getting his attention. I was no different, except that I admired Logan from afar. With him being a superstar junior and me being an awkward freshman at a new school our coupling was a mere pipedream.
Implementing my topnotch investigating skills I learned from reading The Nancy Drew Mysteries, I followed Logan’s life from high school through his college career, and then some. Fearing that my stalker-ish tendencies were becoming more of a mental health issue, I purposely lost track of him five years ago. I admit since that time I have thought of Logan. And when I say thought I mean he has popped into one or forty R-rated dreams of mine.
The day he walked into my bakery, butterflies fluttered in my stomach, tingles tingled my skin, and a sequence of R-rated dreams flashed through my head. But I was no longer that awkward teenager, too scared to speak to him. I had grown into a confident woman. A woman who wanted to admire Logan Heath up close and personal. Unfortunately, from the very beginning Logan wanted something from me that I was not willing to give him.

Tuck has looked out for
Jensen since the day she was born. As his best friend’s little sister, he’s
tried to keep her firmly in the friend

All it takes is one

ground. As a new fire burns between them, someone watches. Someone who doesn’t

they’ll stop at nothing to keep her in the dark.
My entire world seemed to tunnel as my vision went
black, and my knees buckled.
“Shit!” Strong hands caught me before I could hit the
floor. I blinked rapidly as Tuck’s face came into focus. His expression was
full of worry. “Are you okay?” He settled me into one of the café chairs.
My stomach pitched. “I’m fine. Just got up too fast.
You startled me.”
Tuck’s brow furrowed. “The door was unlocked.”
“Well, I thought I’d locked it.”
Tuck let out a sound that was a cross between a sigh
and a growl of frustration. “You need to be more careful. Anyone could’ve come
in here, and you wouldn’t have even known. Just because we live in a small town
doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take precautions.”
I pinned him with a stare that should’ve had him
taking a step back. “I know that. Believe me, I of all people fucking know
Tuck winced. “I didn’t mean it like that.”
I waved him off. “I know.” I pushed up to stand, but
the world turned wobbly again, and Tuck pressed me back into the chair.
“Oh, no, you don’t. When’s the last time you had
something to eat?”
I tried to think back. I guess I had missed lunch. “A
granola bar in the car on the way to drop Noah off at school?”
This time Tuck did growl. “You need to take better
care of yourself.”
My skin prickled. “I take fine care of myself, you big
“I’m not seeing a whole lot of evidence of that
lately. You take care of everyone but
yourself.” I opened my mouth to argue, but he kept right on going. “You stay
right here while I go fix you a snack.” Tuck pinned me with a hard gaze. “You
move a muscle, and I will paddle your ass.”
My jaw came unhinged, but simmering heat pooled low in
my belly. My hands fisted. What the hell?
Before I could regain any semblance of the ability to speak, Tuck had turned on
his heel and strode towards the kitchen. Had I actually hit my head? Was I now
in some sort of coma-induced alternate universe where Tuck threatened to spank
me? And why the hell did some part of me like the idea?
I was clearly in some sort of hunger-induced brain
misfire. That was the only reasonable explanation. I did all kinds of crazy
stuff when I went too long without sustenance. Yes, those crazy things were
generally something like eating an entire pan of brownies in one sitting. They
weren’t typically the burning desire to climb one of my best friends since
birth like a tree. But hunger could make you do lots of insane things.
Tuck emerged from the kitchen juggling a plate with
the largest sandwich I’d ever seen and a tall glass of what looked like apple
juice. He came towards me with what I could only describe as a swagger. Had his
hips always moved like that when he walked?
Don’t get me wrong, I knew Tuck was attractive. Hot
even. I’d had the requisite crush on him throughout my middle school years and
even into high school. But he had always treated me like a little sister.
Someone he liked hanging with. But never once had he given me even a single
hint that he was interested in more than friendship. And I’d grown up. I’d put
him firmly in the big-brother category. So, why, all of a sudden, was my body
reacting to him?
It had to be my dry spell. Could it even be called
that if it was as dry and vast as the Sahara? I needed to get laid and stat.
Because the last thing I needed was to fall for a guy who was a walking

Even so, I’m not the cold jerk most make me out to be, and I have no problem moving the single mom and her baby into my home. I do, however, draw a line when it comes to acting on the way her loose lips make me feel.
She’s too mouthy, too prying, and her curves are way too distracting.
I might have lost my way after a nearly fatal car accident, but I’m not stupid. Giving in to Drew would be a short-lived fix for this pain I’m saddled with, and I knead something permanent.
I’d be insane to think what we have could be anything other than temporary…right?
** I WAS GIVEN AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW **
It was a sweet story, a young mom falling for her best friends twin brother. But there was a slight twist to it as the initially hate each other! Honestly, it is a sweet semi slow burning, snarky romance. They aren’t afraid to call each other out on everything. That includes where she is living with her infant son.
Winston sees where his sisters best friend is living, Drew has a moment of weakness and tells the man she hates that she is struggling financially and personally. That is all it took for Winston to put the personal aside and offer, more like demand, she stays with him until she is sorted in every possible way.
Watching the growth in not only Drew but Winston and him finally seeing past the tip of his own nose and what has been in front of him this whole time.
This a sweet story once it gets there, but its the getting there that was hard for me, that is why I am only giving it 3 stars. The story and the bones were amazing, but it took a long while for me to get into it.
A story that starts with “Once upon a time in Vegas…” isn’t supposed to end with “happily ever after.”
I know this better than anyone, and I can’t let history repeat itself. This is why I have rules, and at the top of that list is no fraternizing with audience members after shows. But my rules mean nothing after my instant connection with Kendall. Her southern accent suggests a certain charm, but her sharp tongue says otherwise. Which is why I can’t help myself—she’s a mystery I need to solve. The more I get to know her, the more I start to believe she could be the one.
Until my past comes barreling in and makes me wonder if my one night with Kendall was real or all a cruel game.
Although I live in LA, my conventional family loves to remind me of my small-town upbringing. They’ve never approved of my life choices—dropping out of college, moving across the country, and dating around, to name a few. Getting involved with Sebastian will be yet another decision they disapprove of—how much more of their disappointment can I take?
After all, he’s a stripper for Vegas’s hottest male revue show. He can’t be my forever.
The odds are against us, but then again, anything can happen in a story that starts with “Once upon a time in Vegas…”
*Strip for Me is Book 1 in the Naked Heat series. Each book is a standalone contemporary romance.
** I WAS GIVEN AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW **
This book was sweet, Sassy and sexy.
I saw the synopsis and was on the fence about it, because I have my certain kind of books and authors I stick close to. Like Sports, mainly Hockey, Baseball and Football, then My MC books, and then the single parent books. This is was one that I stepped out of the norm for me and I was not disappointed in the least.
I love how strong Kendall is, but when things are provent that they are not as she sees them, she kind of falls apart in a way that I see as weak and childish. She has a lot of self confidence issues that play into that at the same time I believe and what she finds with Sebastien helps her open up in the way that she needs to.
Sebastien has a few self confidence issues as well although they are not as obvious as Kendalls and they are deeper down. I think that is why I loved this book a lot, it helps you see the beauty in everything including yourself.
I do recommend this book to anyone and every one struggling a bit, there are people who believe in you.
